After completing a first-time backup, DATASAFE™ implements
a very efficient algorithm whereby only changed
data is transferred with every automatic backup operation.
If only one part of a large file or database is modified, only
that modified part is transmitted and updated on the DATASAFE™ SERVERS.
The system can be easily used over your ADSL, Cable or even Dialup connection
without affecting its usability and using only local bandwidth (ISP download
limits are not affected).
As an example based on current data transfer rates, more than 2GB of
changed data (in a total data set that can be
for example ten times the size) can be uploaded in one night, which is
a great deal for a day’s work! In fact, most daily backups complete

WHERE DOES IT GO?
By opening a secure tunnel through the internet, your data is transferred
to one of the DATASAFE™ SERVERS
for safekeeping. The servers are located within highly secure and internationally
accredited data centres of the highest standards. All servers are automatically
mirrored to secondary sites. Upon request, subscribed clients may be informed
of the exact location of the servers holding their data.
CAN MY DATA BE VIEWED BY ANYONE ELSE?
Your data is encrypted to financial transaction
grade format during transmission, such that it would be meaningless to
anyone intercepting the data during transmission. Once on the servers,
the data cannot be accessed by anyone except yourself, not even the data
centre staff.
You may also opt to have your files further encrypted and compressed
locally before transmission. This is done using AES
encryption, which is also used by the US government for classified
information. Without a decryption key known only to you or your company,
it is impossible to decipher the files stored on the DATASAFE™ Servers
DISASTER
STRUCK AND I NEED MY DATA BACK! WHAT DO I DO?
Option 1 - Lost or corrupted files may be downloaded
to your PC from the DATASAFE™ WEB
PORTAL.
Option 2 - An entire backup may be restored to your
PC through the DATASAFE™ APPLICATION.
The data is restored rapidly since it is a local download connection.
You may typically re-download 20GB of your data within a few hours.
Option 3 - In cases of severe data loss, your company
may authorise PRISMA to physically access and retrieve your data from
the data centres. We will visit
your premises with your lost data within hours from the data loss event
and assist you in the decryption and restoration process.
Even in the extreme cases that the event causing the data loss also causes your premises to be no longer usable, the data can be restored at an alternate site of your choice, so that you can be back in business in no time..
