After a lengthy selection process, Prisma assigned a handful of local
data centres to host the DATASAFE™ SERVERS.
These state of the art data centres, in which millions were invested
by large corporations such as Maltacom plc, can offer your critical data
the protection it deserves, much more protection than you could possible
give it within your offices.
Such infrastructures are not usually within reach of the typical local
companies, organisations and professionals, but with DATASAFE™,
you too can “own” a part of this environment, so that your
risk of data loss is eliminated.
The backups of all subscribed DATASAFE™ customers are automatically
mirrored to physically remote secondary data centres for extra protection,
in a process transparent to the user.
All data centres hosting the DATASAFE™ servers feature the following:
Biometric access restriction –
with fingerprint access and highly controlled access lists, nobody
can access the area where the DATASAFE™ servers are hosted without
the proper authorisation and clearance. Even then, the data contained
on the DATASAFE™ servers is still not accessible. Only customers
can access their data, and in the case of severe data loss where data
cannot be simply re-downloaded, customers can authorise Prisma to
assist in the data retrieval process from the data centres to a location
of the customer’s choice.
Controlled temperature and humidity
– with underground air ducting and high tech ambient condition
control for humidity and cooling, the servers are kept constantly
in an optimal environment.
24 x 7 monitoring – the premises
are guarded 24 x 7, including CCTV protection installed at several
points around the DATASAFE™ servers.
High-tech FM-200 fire protection
– waterless FM 200 fire protection with early detection ensures
that your backups are never threatened by fires.
UPS and 2 month generator fuel stock
– power outages are simply not an option. Even in the case of
national power distribution system outages, the DATASAFE™ servers
could keep running for weeks.
High speed fibre optic internet connectivity
– the DATASAFE™ servers are directly connected to the
DataStream backbone for maximum speed and availability.
Rock solid Linux servers and Enterprise NAS
servers – using top brands such as Fujitsu-Siemens
and HP, DATASAFE™ servers run on highly stable Novell Suse Enterprise
Linux with redundant disk arrays and NAS technology.
